This room is truly a special place of retreat. The large modern bathroom with dual wash basins is situated just outside the bedroom. Only when this room is booked in conjunction with the Bay View Family room, as in the case of children, the bathroom is shared.

Wilderness has some of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa. Enjoy surfing or swimming in our pristine unspoilt ocean. The water is warm and there is nothing better to do than to enjoy a swim in the ocean. Relax on the beach while watching the gentle swells of the waves with glistening golden sand stretching as far as the eye can see under our deep blue African sky. It is important to remember to take care when swimming in our strong ocean currents and it’s always best to use designated beaches for swimming. Our beaches are clean and safe to use. Look for shells and walk on the beach while enjoying the natural beauty.

Trails & Hiking.
Exploring Wilderness on foot is a memorable experience. There are many different day walks and hikes of varying difficulties from easy child friendly adventures to the more technical explorations. The Wilderness National Park stretches from the Touw River mouth to the Swartvlei estuary and beyond. The park is 2500 hectares has 5 rivers, 5 lakes, 2 estuaries and 18 km of coastline. There are many beautiful hiking paths and trails with bird hides strategically placed at various places. The paths penetrate deep into the cool forests overlooking views of the lakes of Wilderness.

Golf.
Wilderness is situated in the middle of some of the world’s most famous golf courses. Fancourt, Oubaai, Pinnacle Point, George Golf Club, Sparrebosch, Simola and Pezula are the main golfing attractions in the region. First class facilities with breathtaking scenery are found at our many golf courses. Golf instruction and golf pro shops are also available. Advanced booking is essential especially over the busy high season.

Nature.
There is an abundant birdlife in Wilderness and its surrounds. Experience the thrilling call of the Fish Eagles and watch the brightly coloured Loerie as it flies past. From one of the many bird hides the Malachite King Fisher and many other birds can be seen. Hire a canoe and paddle up the Touw’s River enjoying the peace and tranquility only found when one is so close to nature. Our beaches are alive with sights for the nature lover from the simple hermit crab to the majestic whale and many dolphin pods are seen playing in the surf.

Water Sports.
Enjoy Surfing at Victoria Bay on the way to George it is one of the surfing hotspots of the region. Kitesurfing is a very popular activity along with waterskiiing and boating on our local lagoon and ocean. The nearby town of Knysna offers yachting and scuba diving for enthusiasts and shark cage diving is available in Mossel Bay for the wild at heart! Deep sea fishing and ocean safaris are also popular water activities available through reputable adventure companies.
